Local Author Discusses Mother's Return from Alzheimer's in New Book

Brad Pitman to make appearance at N. Attleboro Shaw's March 17 and 31.

β€œAlzheimer’s patients don’t just come back – someone goes and gets them. Β This is the story of how I went and got my mother back,” said local author Brad Pitman, who will be appearing in person at Shaw’s Super Market in the Tri-Boro Plaza in North Attleboro Saturday, March 17 and Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to meet the public and answer questions about his book β€œMa is Back! Memoir of an Alzheimer’s Discovery: Restoring my Mother’s Memory."

An Attleboro resident, Pitman used to own the land known as Box Shop Curve, which is now in the general vicinity of where Trinity was built. He spent a lot of years trying to develop that area, and was a regular in appearing before the Planning Board and other local boards. Β He played a part in Norton's initial zoning back in the 70s.

Co-written with Attleboro resident Nancy Driscoll, who will also appear March 17 from 10 a.m. to noon, β€œMa is Back!” is Pitman’s informative account of his mother’s amazing return from the depths of Alzheimer’s Disease. The book explains how he aided his mother by concentrating on what she could do and why she could do it, rather than dwelling on what could not be understood. It is an inspiring story designed to provide an example of true hope and inspiration against a disease most believe offers little.
