NORTON, MA β€”Norton Town Clerk Lucia Longhurst said the town is "getting back a tremendous amount of vote-by-mail applications" but asked that resident be thorough in filling them out in order to facilitate the ballots as quickly as possible.

Those who are unenrolled, and check the option for all elections this year, are asked to mark a party on the right for the primary election.

Longhurst said residents who included a phone number are being called to confirm the party choice, but that streamlining the process would be easier if residents indicated the proper party choice in the first place.

Those who do not list a party or include a phone number will not receive a state primary ballot.

Independents or unenrolled voters who pick a party for the primary ballot will not have their party affiliation changed.
