A Norfolk Superior Court jury found Radoslaw Czerkawski, a 34-year-old Polish immigrant, guilty of larceny. Heβll serve three to five years behind bars, according to a judgeβs ruling.
District Attorney Michael Morissey says Czerkawski stole the money from 95-year-old Janina Stock. Czerkawski was hired by Stockβs family to provide care because of his similar Polish background.

Morrissey says Czerkawski robbed Stock of $130,000 right before she died of natural causes.
Czerkawski is also accused of abusing a one-year-old pit bull. The dog was eventually put down as a result of his actions and nicknamed βPuppy Doeβ by police. The dog was found abandoned near Stockβs home.
