Norton Public Library Presents Meet the Masters

Friday February 5, from 10:30 to 11:30 am, there will be a five-class series for ages 6-12 where kids will meet artists.

In this five-class series for ages 6-12, each week students will “meet” a new artist. We’ll learn about his or her and
history and take a close look at the artist’s style in a few samples. Afterwards, students have a chance to create their own paintings, sculptures, or mixed-media art in the style they just learned about. No has to stick to the subject or colors discussed (for example in Van Gogh’s starry night--we can have rose-colored skies and or “alien” landscapes at the bottom, etc. but all will be done in the style of Van Gogh’s bold colors and motion-inducing brush strokes).

Because students will be using high-quality supplies, a $5 per class materials fee (materials for all 5 classes = $25) will be requested at the time of registration.

This series will be taught by art instructer Sandy Churchill. Registration opens Dec. 28. Please bring payment in order to register.

The Library is unable to accept registration for events by phone or email, except within 24 hours of the event (if space remains.)
