Middle School Break-in, Car Fire in Norton Police Log: Aug. 7 - 10

Tuesday, Aug. 7
12:08 a.m.: S. Washington Street, harassment/threats. Caller reports receiving harassing and threatening messages from a male party in Randolph who he sold a vehicle to. Caller reports he sold vehicle as is, and now subject has a problem with it. Caller reports he is going to attempt to work it out with subject in morning, requests incident be logged.
2:32 a.m.: W. Main Street, burglar alarm. Patrolman McCarthy reports two subjects in the building. Perimeter set up. Attleboro Police Department enroute to assist, State Police K-9 enroute. Mansfield Police patrolling Oak Street. Patrolman Winters requests on call for prints from rear window.
4:38 a.m.: W. Main Street. Police arrested Michael Patrick Fitzgerald, 17, of Oak Street, and charged him with more than $250 in malicious destruction of property, breaking and entering at nighttime for a felony and less than $250 in larceny.
12:40 p.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Property manager of Norton Housing has requested an officer for damage done overnight to a light post; possibly a hit and run.
6:10 p.m.: Lincoln Street, identity theft.
9:28 p.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports suspicious activity, possibly of a sexual nature. Patrolman Turcotte reports subjects will be on their way.

Wednesday, Aug. 8
10:24 a.m.: John Scott Boulevard, harassment/threats.
3:57 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, motor vehicle accident. Rear passenger window broken while driving by Wheaton Ballfield.
4:59 p.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports motor vehicle accident, occupants seem to be out of the cars. Transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for leg pain.
8:23 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, larceny. Caller reports someone stole her medication and she needs a police report to get more from the doctor. Patrolman Turcotte reports unfounded. Believes caller to have a medical issue and referred her to her doctor along with instructing her how to secure her residence.
9:48 p.m.: N. Worcester Street, domestic disturbance.

Thursday, Aug. 9
1:17 a.m.: Burt Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports vehicle into woods across from his residence. Second call reports vehicle is on fire in the woods. One female occupant with multiple contusions; she has been extracted from the vehicle. Transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Car fire knocked down, vehicle removed.
12:55 p.m.: James Street, breaking and entering of a residence. Patrolman Cameron reports no evidence of break in, reassured homeowner.
2:52 p.m.: W. Main Street, two-car motor vehicle accident.
4:30 p.m.: Indian Road, fraud/embezzlement. Caller reports credit card fraud.
7:15 p.m.: Plain Street, larceny. Caller regarding missing ring.
7:47 p.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Two cars, no apparent injuries. Paperwork exchanged.

Friday, Aug. 10
5:18 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. No injuries.
6:21 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. No injuries.
6:56 p.m.: Bay Road, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports being rear ended while getting out of the way for a police car. Less than $1,000 in damages. Paperwork exchanged.
7:16 p.m.: Patton Road, general disturbance. Caller reports neighbor is threatening him with an axe. Verbal argument only and they both have been advised of options.
8:40 p.m.: W. Main Street, larceny. Caller requests an officer to review a video of a past shoplifting incident to see if subjects are known to the police. Shoplifters are no longer in the area. Services rendered.
