Find out what's happening in Nortonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

At 10:30 a.m. on Monday, the Norton Public Library will host a beginner's genealogical workshop that will help participants unearth their roots. The workshop will focus on free resources available at the library as well as online sources.Β Each participant will leave with strategies, resources, forms, and charts to help them begin their family search. Professional genealogist Christine Cook will help guide attendees through a genealogical journey.

Monday will also mark the 4th Annual Putt and Pass Golf Tourney, which will support Norton Golf and Norton Football Boosters. The event costs $125 per golfer and includes golf and a dinner following. Please email us at puttandpass@comcast.net for additional information.

Tuesday, July 30

On Tuesday, enjoy some old fashioned entertainment with Jim β€œMr. Banjo” Haas, Bill Kass, and Paul Gookin, who make up the Banjo Ragtimers. The trio will perform music featuring banjos, sax, clarinet, washboard and drums that will set your toes tapping.

Wednesday, July 31

On Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., transform an old book into a unique frame for your picture. All supplies are provided for the workshop, which takes place at the Norton Public Library, just bring a picture to frame.

Thursday, Aug. 1

Catch a film on Jackie Robinson's story at the Norton Public Library on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
