I loved this movie from beginning to end, and it is still one of my favorites of all time.

It is a story about a teenage girl who feels like she doesn’t have a lot in common with her father. She thinks her brothers are favored by her father, not only because they are boys, but because they are such good athletes as well.

Gracie loses her older brother in a car accident, and feels like her world is crumbling. After the tragic accident and the sadness that starts to consume her family, she decides she needs something to pull them all back together. She decides to play varsity soccer on the boy’s team, in order to follow in her brother’s footsteps. Since she is a girl, they won’t allow her to play on the all boys team unless she can get the votes of the board and has the talent to do so.

She deals with so many emotions in the movie from the pain, loss and anger of losing her brother so suddenly, and yet she never gives up.

This movie is heartfelt and inspiring and a great one to watch. From beginning to end, you can’t help but cheer Gracie on. You want her to succeed in gaining her father’s approval, and making her brother proud.Β  You will look up to her and she may even inspire you to stand up for what you believe in; I know she has inspired me.

She shows courage and determination in fighting for what she wants, and in the end, she learns how to succeed.
