National Nursing Home Week Celebration at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Norton

In observance of National Nursing Home Week, EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Norton will host a week-long celebration to bring together residents, families and staff and with members of the surrounding community. The events will embrace the 2015 theme, “Bring on the Fiesta,” and celebrate “Familia, Vida and Amor” (family, life and love), attributes that are essential in creating a welcoming home for nursing home residents. The schedule of events is as follows:

· Mother’s Day Tea & Tributes, May 10 at 3 p.m. – Kick off the week-long fiesta with a Mother’s Day celebration. Guests are encouraged to bring a letter or poem honoring their mother.

· Game Show: El Rival Mas Debil! May 11 at 1:30 p.m. – Compete to see who the weakest link is during this popular game show spinoff. Stick around after for a social.

· Archeology Dig, May 12 1:30p.m. – Take a virtual trip to an Ancient Mayan City for an archeology dig.

· Entertainment with James Michael, May 13 at 1:30 p.m. – “Broadway Baritone” James Michael will perform. A social with churros and hot chocolate will follow at 3 p.m.

· La Fiesta de Familia y Amigos, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. – Enjoy a night filled with live music, friends, family and good times.

· El Bingo Premio, Friday, May 15 at 3 p.m. – Play fiesta-themed bingo for the chance to win a prize!

National Nursing Home Week is an annual observance sponsored nationally by the American Health Care Association. These celebratory events are free and open to the public but space is limited.
