N.E.E.D. in Need of Young Artists

Program seeking students for Norton Embracing Educational Development fundraiser.

N.E.E.D. Inc., Norton Embracing Educational Development, will be conducting the Square 1 Art fundraiser again this coming school year as one of the annual fund drives.

Elementary students will create their artwork during art class. students, who choose to participate, can create their art as an after school activity.

"This is a lot of fun, as well as rewarding for the children to see their final products turned into memorable keepsakes and/or gifts," said Sheila Mackie in a press release.

This is N.E.E.D.’s largest fundraiser of the year, receiving 33 percent of the proceeds of the products purchased. Square 1 Art will turn your child’s artwork into products such as mugs, aprons, sketch books, tote bags, magnets, etc. Purchases will be delivered in December for holiday gifts. With the funds raised, N.E.E.D. will be able to fulfill grants requested by Norton teachers in order to enrich the education of the students in Norton.

The middle school art project will take place Sept. 29 and 30 and Oct. 6 and 7 from 3:05 to 4:45 p.m.  in the art room. Students can choose to attend any of the days. Students must have a parent signed permission slip to stay after. Permission slips are available on the club table in the cafeteria.
