New Testament Student Starts Creative Writing Club
Emmanuel Sutka aims to share his passion for writing.

“Writing in our world is one of our ultimate expressions of both emotions and ideas. Words give us power, and help us expand our minds in both a logical and creative fashion,” said New Testament Christian High School student, Emmanuel Sutka from Taunton.
Sutka wanted to share his passion for writing with fellow students in his school and formed an after school creative writing club.
“It is my goal to host an environment that allows those with creative propensities to come and share, as well as expand, their ideas and their minds. It is to show them that their talents make them stronger and more equipped to deal with situations as well as with people,” he said.

The club currently has seven students ranging from Grade 5 through 10. Each week, Sutka assigns the students a 10 minute free write at random which consists of a genre, a location and a character. Sutka gives each student a prompt to get them started then they are on their way to develop their stories. The students discuss their stories and Sutka and the group provide creative feedback.
“Writing club is a place where you can express your feelings through creative writing. Emmanuel is an awesome teacher,” said fifth grader, Haleigh Carvalho.
