Norton DECA to Hold Second Annual Evening of Parties
Major fundraiser of the year for DECA competition.

The local Norton DECA chapter, a business-oriented organization that helps provide its members with an idea of the world of business and finance, is holding its major fundraiser of the year Wednesday, Nov. 16.
The chapter members will be hosting an Evening of Parties where vendors such as Pampered Chef, Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Creative Memories and many other in-house vendors will be at the high school to sell their products and services.
This fundraiser is being held in an effort to help the local organization raise money to help pay for competitions of the district, state and national levels. If the students do well at competition, they receive national recognition along with scholarship opportunities to help them wehn they go to college.
“In my opinion, it allows me to use my communication and personal skills to pursue and succeed in something that I love,” said Norton High School student Evan Dasilva of the DECA competitions. “It helps me network to new possibilities and form new relationships while further educating myself in something that I see as my future.”
This event will be held in the Norton High School cafeteria from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 16. This is the perfect time to go out and look for early holiday gifts. The group had great success last year hosting this fundraiser, and they hope to continue and expand upon last year. Along with about 20 vendors, a raffle will be held containing such items as gift cards, clothes and other products. Refreshments will be provided for anyone who attends.
Any vendors who wish to sell their product/service, as well as anyone who would like to make a donation to the local DECA program can contact Heather Albritton at Norton High School, 508-285-0160.
