John J. Wall Jr.

John J. Wall, Jr., 67 of Norton, formerly of Walpole and Waltham, passed away in the presence of his adoring family, on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of Rita A. (Curtin) Wall, to whom he was wed on Nov. 13, 1965.

Born in Boston, MA on Sept. 9, 1944, he was a son of the late John J., Sr. and Margaret (Kelly) Wall.

He grew up in Watertown and Waltham, and was a 1962 graduate of Waltham High School. He furthered his studies and received a business degree from Burdett College. Mr. Wall also served as a member of the National Guard during the Vietnam Era.

For 35 years, Mr. Wall was the owner of Office Systems Unlimited of New England. When younger, he had worked at Dymo, serving as a regional manager.

A resident of Norton for the past 10 years, he had previously made his home in Walpole for 25 years. Mr. Moore was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and while living in Walpole was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church.

An avid New England sports fan, Mr. Moore's favorite to team to cheer on was the Boston Bruins. He loved golfing with family and friends, boating and beaches, and winter months spent in Punta Gorda and North Port, Florida.

In addition to his beloved wife of over 46 years, he is survived by his devoted children; John J. Wall, III of Norton and Elizabeth A. Curry and her husband David of Stratham, NH. He was the cherished grandfather of Joshua David Curry, the dear brother of Jean DelPonte and her husband Lou of Riverside, RI, the son in law of Rita Curtin of Waltham, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's Church.

Arrangements were handled by Sherman & Jackson Funeral

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday May 17th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

Maria Marascio, 90

Maria (Rabuffetti) Marascio, 90, of Norton, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family, on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton.

Born in Italy on Nov. 17, 1921, she was a dear daughter of the late Benedetto and Caterina (Murgida) Marascio.

She grew up and was educated in Italy. At the age of 44, Maria moved to the United States and first settled in Florida. Her family later moved to Hyde Park and for the past 35 years she has made her home in Norton.

A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Her family was the focal point of her life. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and watching her favorite soap operas.

She is survived by her beloved daughter; Antonietta DeLuca and her husband Paul, Sr. of Norton. The devoted sister of Rose LaMarca of Pembroke and the late Frank Rabuffetti, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Paul DeLuca, Jr. and his wife Kerry of Attleboro and Angela Wilson and her husband Sean of Taunton, great grandchildren; Haylee DeLuca, Paul DeLuca, III and Sophia Wilson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

HerfFuneral was held at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Arrangements were made by Norton Memorial Funeral Home.

Donations can be made in her memory to the Activities Fund at the Epoch Senior Healthcare, 184 Mansfield Ave., Norton, MA 02766.

William H. Moore, 83

William H. Moore, 83, of Norton, formerly of Foxboro and Walpole, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, May 9, 2012. He was the former husband of the late Joan E. (Bailey) Moore.

Born in Calais, Maine on February 1, 1929, he was a son of the late Sydney L. and Hazel K.C. (Upton) Moore.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Moore had worked in the Machinery Maintenance Dept. at Butler Automatic in Canton for nearly 30 years. He had previously been employed at the Radio Frequency Co. in Millis.

A resident of Norton for the past 10 years, Mr. Moore had formerly resided in Foxboro for over 30 years and for many years also in Walpole.

During the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. On May 10, 1952, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class.

When Mr. Moore was younger, he had attended school at Mass. Radio. He enjoyed tinkering with antique radios and any project that required fixing things. Mr. Moore also possessed a love for aviation and at one time had started flight school and the processes involved to become a licensed pilot.

He is survived by his devoted sons; Scott B. Moore of Medway and Kent W. Moore of Marlboro, New York. He was the loving father-in-law of the late Theresa M. Moore, and was the brother of the late Sidney Moore and Jean Bishop. Mr. Moore is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton. Arrangements were made Norton Memorial Funeral Home.

Florence M. Dion, 92

Florence M. (Lavigne) Dion, 92, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Dion, Sr. who died on February 26, 1998.

Born in South Berwick, Maine on March 27, 1920, Mrs. Dion was a daughter of the late Frederick and Jenny (Flanagan) Lavigne.

She spent her early childhood living in North Attleboro. Her family later settled in Norton where she was educated and remained a Norton resident for over 80 years.

In addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Dion had also worked as an assembler for more than 10 years at the former Buxton Box Co. in Attleboro.

A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, Mrs. Dion loved watching television and spending time with her loving extended family. Since residing at the Life Care Center in Attleboro, she found a new hobby playing bingo, and was affectionately known as the β€œbingo queen” of the Life Care Center.

She is survived by her devoted children; Shirley A. Pierce of Attleboro, Paul J. Dion, Jr. and his wife Martha of Norton, Phillip R. Dion of Norton, Carol A. McGee and her husband Stephen of Attleboro Falls, Florence J. Giliard of California, Robert R. Dion and his wife Laurel of Pawtucket, Dick Berube of Norton and the late Roland N. β€œPokey” Dion and George E. Dion. She was the dear mother in law of Joyce Dion, of Mansfield and was the sister of Gloria Frazer of Maine and Roland Courbron of Attleboro.

Mrs. Dion is also survived by her cherished 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated May 9 at Norton's St. Mary’s and burial was in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Attleboro. Arrangements were handled by Norton Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the Dion family has requested that donations in Mrs. Dion's memory be made to the Activity Fund at the Life Care Center of Attleboro, 969 Park St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
