Norton Police Collaborate To Provide Clinician For Crisis Support
Community Counseling of Bristol County will deploy a clinician with the Norton Police POP ACT team monthly to provide crisis support.
NORTON, MA – The Norton Police Department on Tuesday announced a new partnership with the Community Counseling of Bristol County (CCBC). Through the collaborative, CCBC will deploy a clinician with the Norton Police POP ACT team monthly to check on and provide services to those who have been in a crisis.
The intent of the partnership is to divert those who are struggling with a crisis from the criminal justice system and reduce police calls for service. The initiative began last week and has already connected with several members of the community with mental health or substance abuse issues. The individuals were provided with resources from the CCBC.
