Norton Police Log: Dec. 10-16

Saturday, Dec. 10
9:27 a.m.: Caller reported missing item from her apartment on 120 West Main St, Norton, MA. Caller believed the apartment may have been broken into. Sgt. Jonathan Goodwin spoke to female caller and went to the resident to speak with her.

7:09 p.m.: An employee at Roche Bros., 175 Mansfield Ave, Norton reported a man who stole Poland Spring’s bottles of water then tried to return them for money. The employee reported a white male with a beard, wearing a blue sweatshirt with paint on it and a black cap. Patrolmen Micheal McKenney returned with the shopper under arrest.
7:25 p.m.: Officer Michael McKinney arrested James G. Callinan of 175 Mansfield Ave, Norton, for received stolen property over $250.

11:40 p.m.: Caller reported three four wheel drive trucks entered the tracks behind the bakery and went in to the lot behind his hosue at 5 Greenfield Circle. He reported that they were very loud, screaming and yelling and believed them to be intoxicated. Patrolman Brian Greco investigated and found one youth in the lot and fled upon arrival.
Sunday, Dec. 11
1:08 a.m.: A caller reported a motor vehicle accident at 7 Richardson Ave. A car crashed through the fence and the caller was unsure of any injuries. Patrolman David Schepis reported that two people fled the scene of the accident on foot. They were possibly male and female. Schepis requested medical attention for the fleeing male and female. Mansfield police found the two further down the street at 730 Elm Street in Mansfield. The female passenger declined medical attention and was transported by police to her residence. The operator of the vehicle, Richard Huddleston, 50, of Mansfield was arrested for operating with a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident that caused personal injury, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
11:18 a.m.: Caller reported a subject at a group home was attacked by either a coyote or dog. They recorded the incident on video. The dog officer and Patrolman David Ruskey were sent a report was taken.
Monday, Dec. 12
10:19 a.m.: Caller requested an officer to their residence for an attempted breaking and entering after the caller realized damage to her property at 32 Strawstone Lane. A report and photos were taken of the property.
1:50 p.m.: There was a 911 hang-up at 151 Godfrey Drive and upon call back no answer. Patrolman David Ruskey requested rescue at the location for a female in her 60s hemorrhaging.
7:15 p.m.: Caller reports a suspicious male outside her residence at 37 New Taunton Avenue for an hour. The male is described as having a long white/grey beard and wearing a heavy green jacket. Patrolman David Schepis and Sgt. Robert Whitfield responded. Patrolman Schepis transported the male to the Taunton industrial park.
Tuesday, Dec. 13
8:48 a.m.: Caller at a construction site on Reservoir Street and Rumford Road reported items were stolen from their site during the night. Patrolman Patrick Mahoney took the report.
9:12 a.m.: Caller reported two men were electrocuted at 45 Commerce Way. Both were brought to Rhode Island Hospital by Easton Rescue.
5:50 p.m.: Caller on 911 reported about 20 minutes beforehand some kids destroyed her reindeer decorations in the front yard at 1 Baker St. The caller was advised to not wait before calling, so police can get someone into the area and to use the non-emergency number for such issues in the future. Officers were advised of the incident.
7:10 p.m.: Caller reported a car off the road and in the trees on John Scott Blvd. National Grid pole was clipped but is intact. The 1964 Ford Galaxie was towed.
Wednesday, Dec. 14
1:44 p.m.: Caller reported from 241 Mansfield Ave that her dealer plates were stolen off her work van “Quality Vans”. Caller reported that it may have happened at the Wrentham Outlets, as she was just there. Report was forwarded to Wrentham police.
3:07 p.m.: Caller reported that her daughter was struck by a motor vehicle on Cobb St. by the side of a mirror of a red Ford Focus as the vehicle turned onto Cobb St. from Reservoir. The motor vehicle continued traveling on Cobb St. towards North Washington. The operator was identified as a white male with white hair. Patrolman Patrick Mahoney checked the area and could not find the operator. Caller denied need for an ambulance.
4:02 p.m.: Male and female came into station reporting harassment by male’s ex-girlfriend. Both were advised by Patrolman Sweeting and they will be going to court.
Thursday, Dec. 15
8:15 a.m.: Caller reported hitting a deer on her way to work on East Hodges St. close to the Taunton line. There was damage to her car, but the deer was able to leave.
11:02 p.m.: Taunton police reported hit and run at 131 North Washington St. by a white 2003 Saturn View causing property damage. Taunton police advised that driver may be intoxicated. If found they must contact Taunton police.
Friday, Dec. 16
1:30 p.m.: Female from Mike’s Towing reported they are towing a grey Acura with front heavy damage that made it look like it had been in an accident. The female operator of the car said she found it like that. Patrolman Scott Sweeting reported that the female’s story keeps changing and that she is not the original operator of the vehicle.
3:24 p.m.: An attorney for an estate of an individual called to report the theft of a motorcycle. It was reported to be taken within the last two weeks. The attorney was advised that someone would have to come in to file a report.
