Norton Police Log: May 28 - June 1

The following information was supplied by the Norton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, May 28
8:57 a.m.: Maple Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports unlocked motor vehicle was entered overnight, approximately $200 taken but wallet and cards were still there.
9:22 a.m.: Maple Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports unlocked motor vehicle was entered overnight and an ipod was taken.
9:36 a.m.: Maple Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports three unlocked motor vehicles were entered last night and everything moved around but nothing taken. Advised to keep vehicles locked.
9:43 a.m.: Sturdy Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Unlocked vehicle entered.
11:28 a.m.: Maple Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.
11:31 a.m.: Maple Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports his wife's unlocked motor vehicle was entered overnight. Only thing missing was a weight watchers card that was found on the side of the road.
11:49 a.m.: Old Colony Road, two-car motor vehicle accident. No injuries.
4:31 p.m.: Union Road, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Approximately $42 in cash was missing.
4:38 p.m.: Garrett Drive, suspicious condition. Caller reports finding a backpack in her yard with paraphernalia and empty prescription drug bottles. P
7:01 p.m.: Maple Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports two cars in his driveway were rifled through, nothing was stolen, both motor vehicles were unlocked.

Tuesday, May 29
3:17 a.m.: Harvey Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports his wife saw someone in the passenger side of the vehicle. Suspect fled on foot, no description. Two motor vehicles entered but it appears nothing was taken.
4:15 a.m.: Dean Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Two unlocked motor vehicles entered.
4:18 a.m.: Harvey Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.
8:44 a.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident with injuries. Two injured, will need a second ambulance. Mansfield responded. Transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
9:38 a.m.: Bay Road, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports vandalism over the weekend to house under construction.
12:49 p.m.: W. Hodges Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Three vehicles in yard gone through overnight, nothing taken.
1:13 p.m.: Newland Street, larceny. Walk-in reporting his son stole some of his checks and has been using them.
1:35 p.m.: Dean Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller stated vehicle was unlocked and it doesn't appear that anything was taken.
6:40 p.m.: W. Main Street, larceny. Manager reports an employee has admitted to stealing some controlled substances at the pharmacy.
8:32 p.m.: Reservoir Street, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports his GPS was taken out of his unlocked vehicle a couple nights ago.

Wednesday, May 30
9:13 a.m.: S. Worcester Street, larceny. Credit card stolen out of mailbox sometime in February. Β 
1:21 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, assault. Caller reports male party struck him twice in the back of the head and took his wallet. He states he has a restraining order against suspect. Area search negative.
5:28 p.m.: Bay Road, trespassing. Notice was left with a parent.
9:28 p.m.: E. Main Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports a group of youths hanging out in back of the building. Owner is writing up a trespass notice.

Thursday, May 31
5:41 a.m.: Holmes Street, assisted Norton Fire Department. Caller reports his motor vehicle is on fire, approximately 20 feet from dwelling.
11:00 a.m.: Island Road, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports sometime within the last few days, his motor vehicle was broken into, contents of backpacks thrown about and one backpack is missing.
3:13 p.m.: W. Main Street, minor police vehicle accident.
3:16 p.m.: Reservoir Street, motor vehicle accident. No injuries, vehicles towed.
8:18 p.m.: Holmes Street. Police arrested Gaige W. Spear, 19, of Old Farm Lane, Brockton, and charged him with more than $250 in malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct.
9:52 p.m.: Homes Street, harassment/threats. Caller reports a friend or family member just came to his apartment and threatened him.

Friday, June 1
7:07 a.m.: Newland Street, assisted the Norton Fire Department.
Caller reports smoke in the basement. Building being evacuated light smoke condition in the
basement, possibly due to a dryer. Extinguished. Power was shut down to dryer.
3:49 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports her apartment was broken into yesterday, items stolen.
5:47 p.m. Taunton Avenue, motor vehicle accident. No injuries.
6:30 p.m.: Hickory Road, harassment/threats by ex.
8:38 p.m.: Taunton Avenue/Clapp Street, one-car motor vehicle accident.
8:48 p.m.: Burt Street, assault. No weapons. Easton Police Department on scene. Civil issue over rent money.
9:01 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident rollover with injury. One of the operators fled the scene.
10:28 p.m.: Plain Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports she thinks someone may have been trying to steal her neighbor’s dirtbike. Second caller reports two males around the neighbor’s dirtbike. He questioned one of them and the teenager stated he knew the owner. When the neighbor asked the kids if the cops came down would they say the same thing one of them took off in the woods. Dirt bike recovered.
