Norton Softball Finds Hits and Runs, Beats Holliston 8-1
Christine Tamulis, and Carly Acaro both scored two runs in the seven run win over Holliston.
After struggiling to find momemtum against Bellingham earlier in the week, the Norton softball team bounced back with all the momentum they needed. Scoring in all but one inning, the Lancers improved to 8-1 with an 8-1 win over the Holliston Panthers.
The Lancers can now qualify for the postseason tournament as early as next week with two more wins.
Up 1-0 going into the second inning, a three run rally by the Lancers extended the lead to four after two innings of play.

The Lancers took advantage of their speed and played small ball to get Maggie Morris, Christine Tamulis, and Carly Acaro across the plate.
"Thatβs what weβve been working on. Put the ball in play, make them (Holliston) make errors, use speed, and see what we can do," Norton head coachΒ Brian Clemmey said.

Later in the fifth inning, a triple by Acaro brought Tamulis home to make it a 7-1 game. Acaro picked up her second run of the game off a Jackie Dunne hit later in the inning.
On the mound, Jess Pieterson returned to action after a high ankle sprain kept her on the sidelines for three weeks. The Norton pitcher showed solid location and was able to strikeout seven Panthers.
"She (Pieterson) just picks her spots and sheβs a very good control pitcher," Clemmy said.
The Lancers are back in action at Medway on May 3.
