Norton Storm Latest: 5,000+ Still Without Power

Over half the town remains in the dark Sunday.

NORTON, MA – Power has been restored to some homes in Norton, but over half the town remains in the dark Sunday morning, according to MEMA. The outage map showed 5,411 – 70 percent of customers – were without power as of 10:45 a.m.

Norton Superintendent Joseph Baeta said on Saturday he will communicate with teachers about flexibility regarding weekend homework, as many students and teachers lost power.

Many areas of town were inaccessible Saturday due to downed wires and trees, according to police. The department said it does not have information about when power will be restored and ask residents to reserve 9-1-1 for emergencies.
