FREE Youth Tennis Clinic: Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter, a former tennis pro, continues to share his love and knowledge of tennis with free youth tennis clinics. The goal? To encourage an ongoing effort of exercise and physical fitness among young people.

The clinics will be held Aug. 3 and Aug. 10, at the Wheaton College tennis courts. Area children between seven and nine will take the court from 9-10 a.m. Children between the ages of 10 and 14 will be instructed from 10:15-11:15 a.m.

The clinics are free, but registration if required by logging on to bristolda.com or by calling volunteer coordinator Brian Rose at 508-961-1972.

Walk-in registrations are permitted, although participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the clinic. Sutter will be assisted by more than a dozen volunteers from the district attorney's office.


FREE Concert: EPOCH Assisted Living of Norton is opening their doors to the public when musician Krisanthi Pappas will perform on Friday, August 2, at 3 p.m. Pappas has acquired an impressive array of musical talents: she’s a pianist, drummer, composer and singer. Those who enjoy pop, cabaret or jazz will have fun at Pappas’ show. Pappas has shared the stage with jazz greats Branford Marsalis, Chuck Mangione, The Yellowjackets and many others. Inflatable Play Center: Looking for some unique indoor fun? Bring the kids to Jake's Place Clubhouse, an indoor inflatable play center that will entertain young children to teenagers. The clubhouse is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, noon-9 p.m., with free bouncing Sunday, 6-9 p.m. with an ice cream purchase, ages 0-12.
