Norton's Week: Bugs, Golf Balls, Zip Trip

In case you missed it, here's a few things that happened in Norton this week.
1. Norton Mosquitos Tested Positive for West Nile
The state has confirmed Norton had a case of West Nile Virus in mosquitos in Norton. Norton Board of Health agent Leon Dumont said there isn’t much cause for concern though, as the mosquito was a breed that only bites birds.
2. FOX-25 to Bring Zip Trip
The FOX-25 Morning Crew will be taking their Friday morning Zip Trip to Norton, Aug. 16, from 6-10 a.m. We asked our readers what things in Norton, the FOX-25 crew should profile in Norton.
3. Norton Town Meeting Set for Oct. 7
Norton has scheduled its Fall Annual Town Meeting for Monday, Oct. 7, at the Norton Middle School at 7 p.m. The deadline for placing warrant articles will be Aug. 19, until 3:30 p.m. at the selectmen's office.
4. Gov. Patrick Releases More Funds for Norton Road Repairs
Governor Deval Patrick and his administration announced on Tuesday they would be adding $50 million to Chapter 90 for infrastructure reimbursement to Massachusetts cities and towns, making the total state contribution $200 million.The problem? It’s still $100 million shy of what was allotted by the state legislature.
5. Deutsche Bank Championships to Return
On the Professional Golf Association's tour, change is a familiar thing as courses, sponsors and sites switch around.When you're taking about the Deutsche Bank Championship at the Tournament Player Club of Boston in Norton, though, it's a different. After changing constantly in the first couple of years, the second stop on the FedEx Cup has gotten into a successful routine.
