VIRGINIA (LUPI) MEROLA
Virginia (Lupi) Merola, 78,Β of Norton, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Albert Merola.Β
Born in Boston on Nov. 7, 1934, she was the loving daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Saporiti) Lupi. Mrs. Merola was raised and educated in Boston. She worked as a secretary for Damon IEC formerly of Needham for more thanΒ 15 years.Β
Mrs. Merola was the loving mother of Kimberly Pozza of Bourne, Victor Pozza and his wife Michelle of Bourne and cherished grandmother of their daughter Amelia. She was the dear sister of Dorothy Smith of Connecticut.
A graveside service will be held at Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton on Friday, July 5, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main St. in Mansfield from 9-11a.m.
ALTON J. MINER
Alton J. Miner, age 83, a lifelong resident of Norton passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 29, 2013 with his beloved wife Carol A. (Howard) Miner by his side. Mr. and Mrs. Miner were wed on Dec. 21, 1986.
Born in Taunton, MA on Oct. 31, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Joseph W. and Sylvia C. (Sweet) Miner. He grew up in Norton and was educated in Norton Public School.

Alton proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Following six years of faithful service, he was honorably discharged on September 15, 1954 with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Miner had worked as a Technician at the Foxboro Co. He was a member of St. James Masonic Lodge and enjoyed reading, the great outdoors, which included gardening, and he treasured the times spent visiting with family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Carol, he is survived by his sister Beverly E. Lawler of Hawaii, as well as members of the Howard family.
At the familyβs request, services and burial will be private. Visitation has also been omitted.

HARRY CUSHING DAMONHarry Cushing Damon, 82, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare of Norton. He was the son of the late Edwin and Helen (Henderson) Damon.
Harry was born in S. Weymouth on July 23, 1930 and was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1948. Harry proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He and his wife Dorothy were married in Sharon on July 2, 1955.
Harry was a graduate of UMASS, Amherst, Class of 1959. He earned his Masterβs Degree in Education at Bridgewater State College in 1963. He was a long time resident of Foxborough. After retirement he moved to Norton where he was a resident for fourteen years. He and his wife recently moved back to Foxborough.
Harryβs first teaching assignment was at Nantucket High School from 1959 β 1960. He then taught at Millis High School from 1960 to 1967. In 1967 he began work as assistant principal at Holbrook High School and then became principal of the Holbrook Junior High School, a position which he held from 1967 to 1982. He then became the assistant superintendent and business manager for Holbrook Public Schools, retiring in 1987. He also taught at the New England Home for Little Wanderers Longview Farm in Walpole from 1988 to 1992.
He was a long time member of the Bethany Congregational Church of Foxborough and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Devoted husband of Dorothy (Parry) Damon. Loving father of Mark J. Damon of Westfield and Scott A. Damon and his wife Maureen Wallin of Clarkston, GA. Devoted grandfather of Wyeth and Tayara Wallin-Damon of Clarkston, GA. Brother of the late Christine Sylvester.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 5 from 4-8 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough.
