Obituary: Jeffrey E. Boudreau

Jeffrey E. Boudreau, 65, of Ashland, formerly of Watertown, Foxborough and Norton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012.

He was the husband of Elaine Courtney, to whom he was wed Feb. 19, 2002.

Born in Attleboro April 29, 1947, he was son of Jacqueline (Cheyne) Boudreau of Norton and the late Edward C. Boudreau.

Jeff grew up in Norton, was educated in and was a graduate of . He furthered his studies and was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art.

During the Vietnam War, he served his country as a member of the United States Army. On April 1, 1972 he was honorably discharged from the service with the rank of SP4.

For the past 11 years, Mr. Boudreau was the owner of Mighty Cod Design in Ashland. He had previously been employed as a creative director and vice president of a Boston ad agency for 26 years.

At an early age, Jeff developed an interest and lifelong passion with Indian tools and artifacts, and was known as an expert in the art of flintknapping and projectile point identification and classification.

He was a talented artist and was affiliated with many museums throughout New England. Mr. Boudreau also wrote and published the New England Typology of Native American Projectile Points.

A resident of Ashland for the past 13 years, he formerly resided in Watertown, Foxborough and Norton. Jeff enjoyed Asian cooking and was an avid New England sports fan. When younger, he along with his brothers loved the sport of fishing.

In addition to his wife and mother, Jeff is survived by his children Matthew P. Boudreau and his wife Jessica of N. Attleboro and Lauren A. Courtney of Boston; his siblings David L. Boudreau and his wife Nancy of Sandwich and Gary A. Boudreau and his wife Anne of Norton; his granddaughter Emma G. Boudreau; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held with military honors Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Norton Common Cemetery, W. Main St. (Route 123) Norton.

Visiting hours have been omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Boudreau’s memory may be made to the Robbins Museum of Archeology/ Massachusetts Archaeological Society, P.O. Box 700, Middleborough, MA 02346-0700.
