Obituary: Julia Marie Zampi

Zampi died July 12 at Epoch Senior Health Care in Norton.

Julia Marie Zampi died on Thursday, July 12 at Epoch Senior Health Care in Norton of natural causes at the age of 90.

Born in Middle West Pubnico, Nova Scotia on Sept. 19, 1921, she moved to Massachusetts and became a United States citizen in 1947. A longtime resident of Roslindale, she worked in the food service industry at Simmons College and Holtzer-Cabot. She later became a home health care provider in the Roslindale area.

Since 2005, she has resided at Epoch Senior Health Care of Norton, where she had participated in many activities. Most importantly, she was appointed president of the Resident Council, where she represented the patients at monthly meetings.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband John R. Zampi, her parents Landry and Marie D'Eon, sister Lois Thompson and brother Delphis D'Eon. She is survived by her son Carl R. Zampi and his wife Donna of Walpole. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Michael E. Zampi and Matthew C. Zampi. She is survived by her brother Maxime D'Eon and sisters Blanche D'Eon and Rita Surrette, all of Middle West Pubnico, Nova Scotia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the F.J. Higgins Funeral Home, 4236 Washington St., Roslindale Square. Interment in Knollwood Cemetery, Canton.
