Roy L. Turco, 65, of Norton passed away in the presence of his loving family on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Cook) Turco to whom he was wed on Dec. 21, 1969.
Born in Norwood, on Oct. 29, 1947, he was a loving son of the late Fred and Chrysella (Hill) Turco. He grew up in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole High School.

Prior to serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, he had attended Bentley College. While proudly serving his country in the Navy, he was stationed in the Mediterranean and was honorably discharged with the rank of Gunnerβs Mate. He later graduated from Dean Junior College in Franklin.
Mr. Turco had worked as a school bus driver for the Michael J. Connolly Co. and had previously been employed for 25 years for the Town of Walpole Water Department where he retired as a forman.

A resident of Norton for the past 40 years, he had previously resided in Walpole. He was a communicant of St. Maryβs Church in Norton and was an ardent New England sports fan, the Red Sox being his favorite team to cheer on.
Royβs life was focused around family and friends. His hobbies included collecting coupons, scrapping metal and aluminum products, and tending to his marvelous vegetable gardens.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted sons, Gerard P. Turco and his wife Michelle of New Hampshire, Fred M. Turco and his wife Diane of Connecticut and Martin A. Turco and his fiancΓ© Jen Burke of Lakeville. The dear brother of Joyce Rice of Wareham, Faith Civilinski of Cataumet, Anne Tobin of Wareham and Denise Connolly of Mansfield, he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Cassandra, Mathew, Brianna, Abigail, Ryan, Nicholas and Christopher, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 14, from 5-8 p.m. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Royβs family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Salvation Army, 21 Union Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
