Police Catch Four Breaking Into Norton Middle School
Items being stolen not disclosed at this time.

Four individuals were arrested early Tuesday morning after they broke into and attempted to steal school property.
Police arrested Michael Fitzgerald, 17, of Norton and three juveniles. All Subjects were charged with breaking and entering at nighttime with intent to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property and larceny under $250.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Norton Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at Norton Middle School, located at 215 W. Main St. Upon arrival, officer Chris McCarthy found a rear air conditioning unit pushed in and two male subjects running through a classroom. At this time, other units arrived and set up a perimeter around the building and property. The building was subsequently searched with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police Trooper Tim Blackwell, K-9 Jager, Trooper Shawn Cayer and K-9 Britta. Β
According to Sergeant Stephen R. Desfosses, the items that being stolen are part of an on-going investigation and cannot be disseminated at this time. Β
βIt may or may not be at a later time,β Desfosses said.
The four individuals were held for arraignment this morning at Attleboro District Court. Β
Responding officers were Patrolman Jesse Winters, Patrolman Chris McCarthy, Patrolman Steve Francis and Patrolman Nicholas Crugnale. Norton officers were also assisted by Attleboro and Mansfield Police Departments. Β
