Police Log: Drug Possession Arrests, Assault and Battery of a Police Officer

Excerpts from the Norton Police Department log.

Saturday, Aug. 30

At 1:54 a.m., police reported a well-being check on East Main Street. Police were notified by Norton Crisis Center that a man who reportedly drank antifreeze was walking to the police station. Police found the subject on Filmore Drive and Chase Service Road and he went willingly with the rescue unit.

At 9:06 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident with property damage on West Main Street. A white Ford F-250 received damages to its rear bumper and a Lexus received damages to its front bumper and grill.

At 12:53 p.m., police reported fraud and embezzlement on East Main Street regarding a caller claiming to be Home Depot services and requesting credit card and social security number information.

At 6:37 p.m., police reported larceny of a bike ramp on Dean Street.

Sunday, Aug. 31

At 2:14 p.m., police arrested James Matthew Higgins, 18, 46 Linden Ln. of Duxbury, for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace on West Main Street.

At 3:41 p.m., police arrested Ryan Matthew Casale, 18, 14 Spruce Ct. of Huntington, NY, for assault and battery of a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace on West Main Street.

At 4:33 p.m., police arrested Scott Matthews Enman, 21, 287 Warren St. of Brooklyn, NY, for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the police on West Main Street.

At 6:09 p.m., police arrested Jenna N. Liedtke, 21, 12 Pratt St. Apt. 205 of Mansfield, for Class A, B and E drug possession and arrested Jake R. Bongo, 21, 802 Ware St. of Mansfield, for Class A drug possession. Police received an anonymous report of drug activity in a black Chevy pickup truck on West Main Street where the parties were sticking needles in their arms.

Monday, Sept. 1

At 12:01 p.m., police reported vandalism on Bay Road where police observed a driver discard two bags of yard waste on the side of the road. The driver denied dumping the bags despite police witnessing the incident.

At 1:36 p.m., police issued an emergency protective order on Evergreen Road.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

At 2:21 p.m., police assisted Mansfield Police Department in the search for the suspect in an unarmed robbery at Rockland Trust Bank, 30 South Main St. of Middleboro. The suspect was described as female, light Central American, 5-foot-two, 140 pounds, heavy bruising on the left side of her face and an eye patch.

At 7:04 p.m., police reported fraud and embezzlement on John Scott Boulevard where a caller claimed to be IRS and requested money.
