Police make arrests for OUI and disorderly conduct

Police Log from June 18 - 24 indicates a busy week for police.

 A 23-year-old man was arrested for OUI and three other driving offenses, after he allegedly drove his car into a mailbox and tree on Power Street last Friday.

Police arrested Kevin Patrick Liberty, 23, of 32 Woodward Street at 9:13 p.m. on June 24,  after he allegedly did damage to property on 64 and 70 Power Street.  He was also charged with marked lanes violation, leaving the scene of an accident and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. 

  Police report that Liberty ran his car into the property, than drove down the street and stopped his car in a parking area.  Liberty had no prior OUI offenses, and he was not injured.

 Police also made earlier arrests for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct, on Saturday, June 18.  Three Norton residents: Thomas J. Flaherty, 49, of 285 Williams Road, Caroline Dolan, 49, of 250 Mansfield Street, and Kenneth Dolan, 55 of 250 Mansfield Avenue were arrested after they were allegedly involved in a fight on the deck of Emma’s Pub, on Mansfield Avenue.

 Saturday, June 18

 12:57 a.m.    Attleboro police report receiving a call reporting a loud bang, possibly a gun shot, coming from the Kinglsey Road area.  Police investigated and searched area, and didn’t find anything.

 3:18 a.m.  Pleasant St. Caller reports a Planet Fitness gym member had her vehicle broken into.  Police report a female’s keys were stolen out of a locker, and several items were stolen, including keys. 

5:26 a.m.  Caller reports jet skis on Lake Winnecunnet. Police report they will be calling the violators.

 10:35 p.m.  Caller requests an officer for a noise complaint, on the corner of Oak and Acorn streets.  Loud music and yelling reported.  Police responded and advised noise-makers.

11:54 p.m.  Charlotte Avenue. Caller reports garage is on fire and all four occupants are evacuating home. Emergency/rescue from Norton, Mansfield and Easton responded.  Building inspector also responded. 

 Sunday, June 19

 1:56 a.m.  Mansfield Avenue. Caller reports intoxicated female trying to get into her apartment.  Police responded and parties advised.

 2:44 a.m.  Plain St. Fire Department reports juvenile on scooter in roadway.

 5:45 a.m.   Bay Road.  Water reported in roadway area of Toad Island and the Chateau.  Possible water main break.  Water emergency contacted. 

 5:39 p.m.  North Glen Road. Caller reports she came home and her apartment was broken into.

 11:35 p.m. East Main Street. Police arrested Andrew R. Manoli, 35, of Taunton for shoplifting, on warrant arrest.  Third offense.   

 11: 47 p.m.  Bay Road.  Citation issued for speeding.

 June 20

 3:46 a.m.  West Main Street.  Police reports subject taking photo's of neon sign.   

 05:45 a.m.  West Street.   Caller reports deer struck by vehicle, deer is injured.

 9:03 a.m.  Dean Street.  Citation given for speeding.

 June 21

 11:17 a.m.  Maple St.  Caller reporting that her father received a call from a male who stated he was from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and was on his way to drop off $500,000 and Mercedes Benz that he won.  Extra patrols requested.

 12:56 p.m.  John Scott Blvd.   Citation issued for speeding.

 2:15 p.m.  Hill Street.  Police reported unoccupied car near woods. Police tracked down the owner, who was operating a metal detector in woods.

7:21 p.m.  East Main Street.  Motor vehicle accident.  No injuries.  Property damage.   Report taken

 10:40 p.m.  South Washington St.  Caller reports an explosive placed in her BFI trash container. Loud noise, cover blown off and odor of gun powder in the air per caller.  Police determined that a small firework was set off in a BFI bin and blew the cover off, it has been re-attached. 

June 22

  2:00 p.m.  Taunton Avenue.  Motor vehicle accident at 94 Taunton Avenue.  Two cars, with one passenger in each car.  One passenger transported to hospital.

 2:30 p.m.  S. Worcester Street.  Motor Vehicle Accident, truck in woods.  No injuries reported.

 3:40 p.m.  Parker Street:  Vandalism reported. 

 9:37 p.m.  Evergreen Road.  Caller reports subject from unknown location came out of house and struck her vehicle with baseball bat.  Thomas Felice, 55, of 54 Evergreen Road  arrested, and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and destruction of property over $250.

11:55 p.m  Francis St. Wires on Newcomb Street reported to be on fire.  National Grid notified and arrived on scene. 

 June 23

 7:43 a.m.  Caller reports loud bang and power went out.  National Grid advised.

 9:48 a.m.  West Street.   Vehicle reported to be  illegally dumping in lot at 120 West Street.

 10:51 a.m.  Bay Road. Vehicle stopped for speeding. Verbal Warning.

 3:50 a.m.  Evergreen Road.  Youth reported to be honking their horns loudly. 

 1:20 p.m.  Mansfield Avenue. Caller reports he was assaulted.

 June 24 

 12:53 p.m.  Hastings Way.  Caller reports an elderly male seen in area entering buildings.  Police responded and advised residents.

 4:40 p.m.  Richardson Avenue.  Caller reports she has been bitten by landlord’s dog.

  9:25 p.m.  Walk-in to police station reports harassments and threats via Facebook.  Voluntary statement filed.

 10:20 p.m.  Mansfield Avenue.  Caller reports the landlord punched him in the face and stole his cell phone.
