Road Work On Rt. 123 In Norton To Continue Next Week

NORTON, MA – The following is an announcement from the Norton Police Department.

A message from Thorndike regarding next weeks road work on East Main St.

Dear Norton Residents et al,
Paving work will resume in Rt. 123 next week requiring a partial road closure in the area of 274 East Main and I-495 Marketplace. Northbound traffic will be diverted via Leonard and Burt Streets. Southbound traffic will remain on Route 123. Detours will be in effect throughout the week starting at 7:00am and ending somewhere between 5:00 and 7:00pm.

Work will occur in the follow locations:
White Street: Adding a layer of top coat
In front of Red Mill Plaza: Replacing temporary patches over water services with permanent patches.
In front of 274 East Main: Leveling the roadway, Top Coat and striping.
Additionally, the Town of Norton has requested we mill and repave from 274 East Main Street to just north of Leonard Street.

The approximate schedule and detour for the above work is as follows:

Monday: milling, northbound side, regrading, binder paving where necessary. SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY IN FRONT OF VILLAGE ESTATES, 274 EAST MAIN, KINGSBURY HILL AND I-495 MARKETPLACE.

Tuesday: milling southbound side SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY IN FRONT OF VILLAGE ESTATES, 274 EAST MAIN, KINGSBURY HILL AND I-495 MARKETPLACE.

Wednesday: Leveling SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY IN FRONT OF VILLAGE ESTATES, 274 EAST MAIN, KINGSBURY HILL. TWO-WAY TRAFFIC ALLOWED IN FRONT OF I-495 MARKETPLACE.

Thursday: Binder Paving SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY IN FRONT OF VILLAGE ESTATES, 274 EAST MAIN, KINGSBURY HILL. TWO-WAY TRAFFIC ALLOWED IN FRONT OF I-495 MARKETPLACE. WHITE STREET CLOSED.

Friday: Top Coat Paving SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY IN FRONT OF VILLAGE ESTATES, 274 EAST MAIN, KINGSBURY HILL AND I-495 MARKETPLACE. WHITE STREET CLOSED.
Note this schedule is subject to change due to weather impacts.
Striping will follow but traffic will be allowed in both directions.
