Rollover on Reservoir Street Injures One

On Thursday night, 19-year-old Norton resident Jessica Lake was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Norton Fire Department for injuries she sustained in a rollover car accident.

The driver, Christian Lewis, 24, who lives at the same address as Lake, was not injured. He was charged by Norton Police Department with negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Norton police and fire responded to the area of 417 Reservoir St. in the area of at about 7:30 p.m. for several reports of a motor vehicle crash. The single vehicle involved in the crash had traveled off the right shoulder of the road and struck a tree stump, which caused the vehicle to roll over and rest on its roof.  

That area of Reservoir Street was closed for a half hour while crews worked to remove the vehicle from the roadway.  The crash is under investigation by patrolman Kevin Schleicher.
