Tailgating, Breaking and Entering in Norton Police Log: July 14 - 16

Saturday, July 14
10:23 a.m.: Mansfield Avenue, two-car motor vehicle accident.
12:00 p.m.: W. Main Street, assisted Norton Fire Department. Caller reporting 56 year-old female having a possible diabetic reaction. She is agitated, combative and has barricaded herself. Once upon scene, she came out. Transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
1:22 p.m.: Todd Drive, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reporting possible past attempted breaking and entering.Glass in basement door is broken, but door is still locked. Nothing to indicate it was broken from the outside or an attempted break.
2:47 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, general disturbance. Patrolman King reports moving along several groups of people attempting to tailgate in the Roche Bros plaza.
3:27 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, general disturbance. Patrolman King moved along about 10 groups of people drinking alcohol in the lot, they were advised.
7:49 p.m.: Maple Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports male subject walking down Maple Street towards Attleboro. She believes he is from a group home on Harvey Street and is afraid he is a danger to himself. Second caller reports male subject on Maple Street near Bullock Drive stopping vehicles and yelling at them. Area search negative. Patrolman McKenney reports he
spoke with residents in area, male subject had been returned to home.
10:10 a.m.: Norton Glen Road, domestic disturbance.
Sunday, July 15
12:55 a.m.: 120 W. Main St. Police arrested Linda Zarek-OβConnor, 47, of Gilbert Street, Mansfield, and charged her with marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and motor vehicle lights violation.
8:40 a.m.: Reservoir Street, assisted Norton Fire Department. Third party caller reports man with possible heart attack pulled from a boat near the Reservoir Dam area. Β Subject
was breathing and feeling much better. Patient refusal.
11:43 a.m.: S. Worcester Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports male party sleeping on the steps. He has been advised and is moving along.
11:53 a.m.: Freeman Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports neighborβs truck appears to have slipped out of gear and is on the edge of the property. It went across the road and is in the woods. Relative showed up and they were able to get the truck back in the driveway and secured.
4:12 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, general disturbance. Caller reports a turquoise parakeet has been at her house all day. Brian Plante notified and he will head over that way.
7:36 p.m.: John Scott Boulevard, suspicious condition. Caller reports possible intoxicated male laying on the side of the road near mailboxes. Highly intoxicated male unable to stand and complaining of severe leg pain. Subject being transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
9:25 p.m.: Jacobβs Way, general disturbance. Caller reports excessive loud music coming from parked cars for an hour. Crowd dispersed.
Monday, July 16
1:14 p.m.: Power Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports hearing a loud noise in basement and when she investigated, found the basement door open. Barking dogs might have scared
off burglar. Exterior seems fine, but caller noticed a tan colored SUV in the area about a half hour prior to basement noise.
3:18 p.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Passerby reporting a two-car motor vehicle accident. One injured. Wrecker and towing vehicle requested. Three transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
4:27 p.m.: Newcomb Street, breaking and entering of a residence.
4:31 p.m.: Newcomb Street. Police arrested Adam J. Carine Jr., of Fairfield Park, Mansfield, and charged him with Β more than $250 in malicious destruction of property and attempting to commit a crime.
5:56 p.m.: Dean Street, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports a past breaking and entering sometime throughout the day. Entry was gained through a window. Β
11:14 p.m.: Newcomb Street, general services. Caller reports pine tree on wire. Cable wires partially down, blocking one lane of travel. Β Highway Department, Verizon and Comcast notified.
