Thousands In Norton Remain Without Power; Warming Center Opens
In an update Saturday morning, Norton police said access to many areas in town is limited as several trees and wires are still down.

NORTON, MA β The majority of Norton remains without power Saturday afternoon, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. MEMA's map showed 6,258 customers β 81 percent of those served in town β were without power as of 2 p.m.
A regional warming center opened at noon at Wamsutta Middle School, 300 Locust St., Attleboro, Norton police said. Those who need transportation are asked to call 508-285-0240.
Many areas of town are inaccessible due to downed wires and trees, according to police. The department said it does not have information about when power will be restored and ask residents to reserve 9-1-1 for emergencies.
