Three Teens in Rollover on E. Hodges Street

Norton Police seeking criminal complaint through the Attleboro District Court.

On Aug. 4 at 11:30 p.m., Norton and Departments responded to 13 E. Hodges St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a single vehicle. Several area residents called police to report that the vehicle was on its roof in the front yard of the residence at that address and there were three occupants inside. The operator and one passenger fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival. The third passenger, Matthew Bushey, 21, of Burt Street, Norton, was transported to Sturdy Hospital by the Norton Fire Department.

Β Officers determined that the vehicle was traveling west on E. Hodges Street at a high rate of speed when the operator lost control of the vehicle, striking a mailbox at 17 E. Hodges St. before crashing on the front yard of 13 E. Hodges St. Officers searched the area for the operator and the other passenger with negative results.

After an investigation, officers determined that the operator of the vehicle was Christopher J. Marvelle, 20, of 51 Power St., Norton. The vehicle Marvelle was operating is owned by his father. Norton Police will be seeking a criminal complaint through the Attleboro District Court for leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger, speeding and marked lanes violation.
