Unauthorized Fireworks in Norton Police Log: July 4 - 6
The following information was supplied by Norton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, July 4
12:55 a.m.: Elm Street, general disturbance. Caller reports fireworks in the area. Subjects advised.
1:00 a.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. Small fire in a barrel behind Norton Middle School. Extinguished and contained to trash can.
1:59 a.m.: John Scott Boulevard, suspicious condition. Trash recovered in the middle of the road. The item was a gallon milk jug with a message written on it.
12:46 p.m.: Pine Street, suspicious condition. Officer flagged down by resident who believes one or two males are living in the woods. Officer reports no one in the area matching the description and spoke with Wheaton Safety Officer, who has not seen anyone matching that description either.
1:53 p.m.: Old Colony Road, vandalism. Vandalism with possible attempted larceny on an outside vacuum. Β Manager has video surveillance tapes and would like an officer to come to the car wash to review them. Vehicle make identified. Trying to get owner to enhance video to get a look at the plate.
4:11 p.m.: W. Hodges Street, motor vehicle accident. No injuries. Edd's Towing advised and enroute. Highway Department notified of possible guardrail damage.
4:11 p.m.: Norton Glen Road, motor vehicle use without authority. Station walk-in reporting unauthorized use of her motor vehicle by her daughter. Taunton Police Department advised to stop and hold the vehicle if found.
8:55 p.m.: Jackson Street, general disturbance. Caller reports fireworks going off in the area. Neighbors spoken to. Should be shutting it down soon.
8:58 p.m.: Barrows Street, general disturbance. Male party is reporting a female trying to break into his house. Β States she is a former neighbor of his. Female checks, she's waiting for a ride.
9:15 p.m.: Jackson Street, general disturbance. Multiple calls from an individual reporting fireworks going off, became very irate. Advised of a higher priority call and limited responders. Neighbors advised.
10:35 p.m.: Reservoir/India Street, general disturbance. Caller reports neighbors have been lighting fireworks off for some time now and requests an officer. Officer spoke with some individuals, they are done for the night.
Thursday, July 5
6:02 a.m.: N. Worcester Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports her husbands vehicle was rummaged through but nothing seems to be taken.
6:24 a.m.: Patten Road, general disturbance. Front desk reports received call direct from female caller requesting officer regarding her niece and boyfriend arguing in the front yard. She would like them removed from premises. Subject left the property.
11:14 a.m.: Bay Road, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports she just got home and her front door is kicked open. Officer will be checking the area to the Easton and Taunton lines for a subject on a bicycle, possible suspect, looking to question. Easton has also been contacted. Area search negative.
12:35 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, larceny. Walk-in reporting stolen checks.
1:19 p.m.: Commerce Way, larceny. Report of a stolen tailgate from back of 2011 ford F250. Manager will see about getting surveillance footage.
6:34 p.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports her fiance is highly intoxicated and had a fight with her daughter and got in his car heading west on West Main. Caller reports fiance called and is at MGA links. Subject brought in for protective custody and is leaving the vehicle at MGA links.
7:42 p.m.: Wampum Road, general disturbance. Caller reports an unwanted female on the premise. Peace restored, female picked up some belongings and left.
8:57 a.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. Male subject appeared to be sleeping in front of the door of Tedeschi Food Shops. Subject checks ok, stated he was conducting a social experiment. Β He has been advised to move along.
9:31 p.m.: Hadley Road, general disturbance. Caller reports group of youths in neighborhood are running around knocking on doors. Officer has a visual on a group of kids running into woods. One youth stopped for questioning Β and will be brought to his house. Β He reports there are approximately 18 other youths in the wooded area. Officer stopped at several other houses to speak with parents. Area is quiet.
Friday, July 6
1:51 a.m.: Barrows Street, general disturbance. Mother requests well being check for her daughter who has a UHaul truck and throwing objects around yard. Transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
11:15 a.m.: Robinson Lane, suspicious condition. Walk-in reporting attempted internet scam. Information faxed over to FBI.
11:40 a.m.: Island Road, by-law violation. Caller is reporting an ongoing issue with a boater who comes several times a week and speeds around. Caller referred to the town ordinance #42 under order of conditions that boaters not exceed a speed of 10 MPH. Caller is also on the water bodies committee. Caller reports he has called the Environmental Police Department but nothing
is enforced. Caller reports the boater has been banned from boating on several other local lakes.
5:17 p.m.: N. Worcester Street, fraud/embezzlement. Walk-in reporting credit card fraud.
11:10 p.m.: Barrows Street, domestic disturbance.
