Water Advisory In Effect In Norton

The general contractor for the Norton water treatment plant has electricians onsite to run tests on the new pumps and control system.

NORTON, MA β€” Beginning Thursday, the 200,000-gallon fire suppression storage tank for Horizon beverage company was to be filled by Norton Water personnel due to another leak that needed repair. The tank must be drained completely to make such a repair. Norton water department will be filling slowly and completely controlling this process as not to make an impact on our water supply.

This process may cause a disturbance with the slow rate and direction of the flow, so we are asking you to monitor water before use in the event disturbance occurs. We also urge you to contact the water department when/if any issue arises so we can address it accordingly and efficiently.

Water Treatment Plant:

The general contractor for the water treatment plant has electricians onsite to run tests on the new pumps and control system at the facility. To perform these tests, the plant will need to be in operation and working against system pressure. Any fluctuations in pressure or flow may cause a disturbance in our water system. We do not anticipate these disturbances to be minimal and will be addressed by our water department personnel as calls are made to our office. Please notify the office at 508-285-0280 when you notice this disturbance immediately so we can correct them swiftly and professionally.

Water Vending Machine:

The Water vending machine is having electrical issues due to inconsistent electrical currents supplying the vending machine from the Town Hall. These intermittent electrical currents will trip the vending machine and shut down to protect against damage to the high tech sensitive equipment we have now. We are looking at other outlets to supply the machine to try and avoid this in the future. We are looking into having the electrician running a new updated electric line to facilitate the device.
