NORWOOD, MA - The Boston Pops will be coming to Norwood in a unique local concert as part of the town's 150th anniversary celebration on Sunday, June 26 on Norwood's Town Common.
Because of the expected turnout of roughly 7,000 people, event organizers are seeking volunteers to help with the logistics of the two-hour performance.
Gates will open that day at 1 p.m., with the concert starting promptly at 4 p.m. The concert will last until 6 p.m.
Because of the event's large scope, volunteers will be needed to perform tasks such as assisting with details ranging from ushering folks to their open seating to answering questions regarding the day's event.
"We could use your help, if you and/or your family members and friends may be available that Sunday," said Mike Thornton, a member of Norwood 150, the commitee organizing the event. "If you could help us out for a few hours on June 26, we would be grateful. Of course, you'll also get to hear - and most likely see - a world-class performance that day for free from the legendary Boston Pops. We would love to see you there."
For this concert, there will be two separate volunteer and assignment training sessions, with dates to be announced shortly.
If you are interested in volunteering, or have any questions, please email norwood150volunteers@gmail.com.
