3 Titles in 3 Seasons for Rocha at All-States This Year

junior Catarina Rocha picked up yet another state title Tuesday at Fitchburg State University in the 2-mile.

Rocha finished with a personal best of 10:45.50, a safe distance from runner-up senior Olivia Brackett of Weston, and added her third All-State title to her trophy case in as many seasons this year. , and now outdoor track in the 2-mile, which she also won last year.

Since hanging up her soccer cleats for a pair of racing shoes after her freshman year, Rocha has accumulated five state titles.

Another highlight for the Tanners at Tuesday's All-State Meet, which was originally delayed from Saturday due to the rain, was senior Austin Brewster's performance in the boys' 200 meter. Brewster set a new school record in 22.67 in a preliminary heat and then finished 6th overall in 23:01 in the finals.

The girls' 4x800 team of Rocha, Heather MacLean, Sarah May and Joanne Frangias also set a new record for themselves and the school at 9:34, coming in 7th overall. MacLean also finished 10th in the 400 meter (59.55).

On the boys' side, the 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams finished 6th and 8th, respectively.
