Today is Tuesday, July 3. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. The Peabody Nationals defeated East Lynn last night to advance in the District 16 Little League tournament. Next up on Saturday at 2 p.m. is Swampscott, which has also only lost once so far.
  2. Tuesday means it's market day. The Peabody Farmers Market is 2-7 p.m. at the , and starting this Saturday is the market at the library's courtyard from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  3. and other public offices and buildings will be closed July 4 in observance of the holiday.

  5. City Purchasing Agent Dan Doucette reports that the netted the city $27,900. Doucette said the bucket truck and 20 other items were sold.
