5 Things You Need to Know Today, July 5
Free lunch at the library, raspberry picking, summer reading, school bus fees and more to know.

Today is Thursday, July 5. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.
- Teens and younger kids can stop by the Main Branch Library through Aug. 23, Monday to Thursday for a free healthy lunch and fun activities, games and reading. The program runs 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. No registration or ID needed. Mondays will be arts and crafts, Tuesdays outdoor fun and games, Wednesdays book buddies and special events and Thursdays hip hop with Andrew Sentongo.
- Starting today, the store at is open daily, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Stop by to stock up on pies, bakery treats, jams, honey and produce. Also you can pick your own raspberries daily, as conditions allow, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. except on Mondays.
- If you need to check them out, you can find the K-12 summer reading lists for Peabody students online here.
- If your children need to ride the bus to school next year, get your payment in full into the district Transportation Department by July 13 for a $25 discount per student. You can find more information here.
- Summer Shindig: The is putting on its annual Summer Shindig at the Smith Barn on July 18. There's still plenty of time to buy your tickets.
