- If you live on Greenwood Road... The city has scheduled an overnight shut down of the existing water main to allow for repairs to the water system. The work is scheduled between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. When the water is turned back on, open an outside faucet for five minutes to clean your service line. Questions should be directed to the Water Department at 978-536-0600 ext. 121.
- Softball: The impressive run for the Peabody West Majors ended Saturday afternoon with East Bridgewater turning the tables for the sectionals re-match, 5-2, and handing Peabody its second loss in the double elimination tournament. , Peabody initially defeated East Bridgewater, 14-10, on Thursday before losing to Woburn on Friday. The junior all-stars began sectional play Sunday with a commanding win, 16-4, over Wakefield. Game two of the tournament is scheduled for Tuesday night (7:30) in Worcester. . The senior all-stars take on Wakefield tonight (5:30) at the Kiley School for the start of tournament play for the teens (there is no Little League district competition organized at that age bracket).
