Today is Tuesday, June 5. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.
- Today's weather: Showers likely early this morning, cloudy and a high of 59 degrees.
- Sports today: Due to the rain yesterday, the baseball playoff match-up between and Watertown was postponed until today. The Division III North contest is at 4 p.m. at Fenwick. Meanwhile, Fenwick's Faye Haley and track and field athletes will compete in the All-State Meet at Fitchburg State University, which was similarly postponed until today, along with Peabody girls' tennis versus Andover up in Andover (3:30 p.m.).
- A little Irish music: Stop by the West Branch Library tonight at 7 p.m. for a free evening of Irish music with the boys from Ireland. No registration is required.
- School budget public hearing: The Peabody School Committee is set to take its final vote on next year's school budget tonight. A public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.
- Class of '57 reunites: The Peabody High School Class of 1957 is having its 55th reunion June 10 over at the Polish-Russian-Lithuanian Club in Danvers. About 52 graduates are expected to show up. The reunion will be held from noon to 4 p.m.
