  1. Today's weather: Showers early with a high near 67 degrees.
  2. City Council: The City Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at . Prior to the regular session, the Industrial & Community Development Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. to review some zoning updates from the Community Development Department.
  3. MBTA cop cited for saving a life: Peabody resident Sgt. Steven O'Hara of the MBTA Transit Police received an official commendation yesterday for off a parking garage in Quincy on April 5. The award was presented by Chief Paul MacMillan, who had praised O'Hara for his "swift, effective and compassionate actions" in saving a life.
  4. Afternoon tea with the FERRIN Group: put on by the past winners of the Mary Upton Ferrin Award will be held May 20, but you need to RSVP by May 13 in order to go. The guest speaker this year will be Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll, and there will be finger sandwiches, gourment teas, desserts, raffles and more to raise funds for the Mary Upton Ferrin Scholarship.
  5. Get your car washed: The Peabody High baseball at Saturday morning to raise funds for team banquets, awards, scholarships, etc.
