- Today's weather: Sunny with a high near 67 degrees.
- Tanner High sports: Softball is slated to visit Beverly today while boys' tennis hosts Somerville, girls' lacrosse hosts Essex Aggie and girls' tennis travels up to Gloucester (all games at 4 p.m.). The Tanners' baseball club then hosts Lynn English at 6:30 p.m.
- Down at the farm: The greenhouse and floweryard at opened for the spring season yesterday. Hours are 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.
- NeXus New England is kicking of its second annual Cars 'n Coffee event and this time is coming all the way up from Framingham to Peabody on Sunday to benefit the family of James Rice through the Peabody Firefighters Local 925 fund. The parade of hot rods, muscle cars, classics, trucks and bikes will arrive in rear parking lot of the by Sports Medicine North at 11 a.m. Donations will be collected both in Framingham and Peabody.
- The plans to dedicate a memorial plaque at the entrance to the Children's Room at the on Sunday at 11 a.m. in memory of the late Sonia Weitz. Weitz, a Holocaust survivor and longtime Peabody resident who died in 2010, helped found the center, which is located on the top floor of the library.
