  5. If you've noticed some discoloration in your tap water recently and you live in either Ward 4 or 6, don't worry, it's just likely due to the Fire Department testing the hydrants in your neighborhood. Annual hydrant testing began May 1 for Precinct 3 in Ward 4 and Precints 1 and 2 in Ward 6 on May 1 and is scheduled to run throughout the month. During the testing, you may experience some discoloration in your tap water, says Fire Chief Steve Pasdon. Running the tap for at least one minute, however, before using the water should clear up the coloration.
