Peabody Extends Cataldo Ambulance Contract Through 2029

PEABODY, MA — Cataldo Ambulance will continue to serve the city of Peabody through 2029 — with the option to do so for two additional years — as part of a new three-year agreement that Mayor Ted Bettencourt announced this week.

The extension begins July 1, 2026, and continues through June 30, 2029.

The city also retains an option for an additional two-year extension through June 30, 2031.

Bettencourt said the new agreement provides the city with an additional Basic Life Support vehicle, expanding the level of service available to residents. He said the added unit will help meet the needs of a growing city and represents an important benefit of the contract.

"Peabody has been well served by Cataldo Ambulance for many years," Mayor Bettencourt said. "In addition to providing exceptional emergency services to our residents, Cataldo has proven to be a tremendous community partner, regularly participating in major community programs — including the International Festival, Senior Day at Brooksby Farm, and the Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting."

Bettencourt also praised Cataldo's investment in the community through its Foster Street facility, which houses several vehicles and staff and serves as an important base of operations within the city.
