Guitar Monsters Show In Gloucester To Support Local Hunger Relief - feat. Jon Butcher, Johnny A. & Dave Amato

GLOUCESTER, Mass. — A benefit concert at The Cut in Gloucester will raise money for The Open Door, the local nonprofit working to alleviate the impact of hunger and strengthen food access across the community.

The show, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, will feature Jon Butcher, Johnny A. and Dave Amato as part of the Guitar Monsters tour presented by Rockin' 4 Vets.

The Gloucester performance will take place at The Cut, a downtown venue that hosts live music and community events on Cape Ann. Proceeds from the local show will go to support The Open Door's hunger-relief work.

The Open Door provides food assistance, nutrition resources and community support for people and families facing hunger. Organizers said the Gloucester stop is intended to connect live music with direct support for that local mission.

The concert lineup brings together three guitarists with deep ties to the New England and national rock scenes. Butcher, a Grammy-nominated artist and New England Music Hall of Fame inductee, built a national following with the Jon Butcher Axis.

Johnny A., also Grammy-nominated and a Boston Music Hall of Fame member, is known for blending rock, blues, jazz and soul into his instrumental work. He previously served as musical director and lead guitarist for Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band and later toured with The Yardbirds.

Amato is best known as longtime lead guitarist for REO Speedwagon and is currently touring with former Eagle, Don Felder.

The Guitar Monsters tour also includes a Sept. 25 show at Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, New Hampshire, benefiting Liberty House, and a Sept. 26 show at Infinity Music Hall in Hartford, Connecticut, benefiting the Community Renewal Team.
