• Peabody To Host 41st International Festival October 4, With Food, Music, Art Downtown (wror.com) — Peabody's 41st International Festival is now set for Sunday, October 4, filling downtown streets with food booths, live entertainment, and family activities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central, Foster, Main, Lowell, and several side streets will be closed or restricted as vendors, art displays, kids' activities, and cultural performances spread across Peabody Square, Courthouse Plaza, and nearby parks. Plan ahead for parking, walking routes, and plenty of eating.
• New Peabody Higgins Middle School Principal Eyes Collaborative Approach To Learning (patch.com) — A new principal is taking over at Higgins Middle School in Peabody, bringing a collaborative, student-support-focused approach shaped by years in Peabody Public Schools. Seith Bedard plans to expand a successful support model from Peabody High, emphasizing early help for struggling students and close partnerships with staff and families. Local parents can expect continuity plus renewed attention to student needs.
• Two arrested following robbery at Northshore Mall in Peabody (newportdispatch.com) — Peabody residents should know that a robbery at Northshore Mall led to two injured Peabody police officers and the arrest of two Boston residents. Police say the suspects tried to flee after allegedly stealing merchandise from Macy's, with one officer dragged by a vehicle. Both suspects now face multiple robbery and assault-related charges in Peabody District Court.
