• Saturday's football roundup: St. John's Prep studies up, passes La Salle (R.I.) test with ease (bostonglobe.com) — Peabody High's football team stayed undefeated at 4-0 with a 14–7 road win over Beverly, powered by two rushing touchdowns from quarterback Dominik Mercier and a late defensive stand. Coach Matt Bettencourt credited key Beverly turnovers and his defense's resilience in a game where both offenses struggled early, giving local fans plenty to cheer about this weekend.
