PEABODY, MA — A Peabody traffic stop on Thursday led to drug charges against a Gloucester man and the seizure of more than 24 pounds of THC-infused gummies.
Police said the white Dodge Challenger was stopped for an expired inspection sticker on Newbury Street when officers said they saw "several vacuum-sealed packages containing THC-infused gummies in plain view" inside the car.
Police said an ensuing search of the car revealed THC products and items consistent with drug distribution.
Those included 196 packages of gummies weighing about 24.5 pounds, 200 THC vape pens labeled "Ace Ultra-Premium," 100 THC cartridges labeled "Live Candy," and seven THC vape pens labeled "Pack Man."
Police said the value of the items sealed was estimated at about $20,000.
Michael Perrine, of Gloucester, was charged with three counts of possession of a Class C controlled substance with intent to distribute, subsequent offense.
