Bridgewell serves northeastern Massachusetts as a nonprofit social and human services organization.

Ward's new role includes oversight of programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorder and other life challenges.

The organization said the work is intended to support people in living empowered lives and remaining active members of their communities.

Ward has been with Bridgewell for more than a decade. Most recently, she served as director of independent living, where Bridgewell said she expanded services, developed new programs and mentored managers and staff across 10 independent living programs in the North Shore region.

She also previously served as a residential director for eight of Bridgewell's residential programs.

"Andrea has been a valued leader at Bridgewell for over a decade, and I'm thrilled to see her advance to this important role," said Bridgewell President and CEO Christopher Tuttle. "Her experience across residential and independent living services gives her a deep understanding of how our programs can work together to help people build meaningful, connected lives.

"Andrea leads with compassion, integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement, and I know she will bring those qualities to her leadership of our community integration services."

Bridgewell said Ward fostered partnerships both internally and externally in her earlier residential role to guarantee the delivery of person-centered care. The nonprofit said her new position centers on maintaining high-quality resources and person-centered supports across several service areas.

"Throughout my career, and with every new opportunity afforded to me by Bridgewell, I have grown more passionate about helping individuals succeed and achieve true inclusion and fulfillment," Ward said. "I am honored to step into this role and deepen my understanding of the needs of the people we serve, and how we can best meet them as an organization."

Ward earned both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix.
