Griffin Dunne Receives Nurses and Correction Officers Endorsements

Beverley Griffin Dunne, Democratic candidate for State Representative , has received two additional endorsements of her candidacy.  Endorsed last week by the Peabody Democratic City Committee, Dunne has also received the endorsements of the Massachusetts Nurses Association as well as the endorsement of the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union. 

“The Massachusetts Nurses Association has endorsed Beverley Griffin Dunne because she will be a strong advocate for nurses and will work for the continued improvement of health care services.  Once elected, Beverley will do all she can to support the passage of legislation which will ensure safe nurse staffing in our hospitals and advocate for access to safe and quality healthcare”, said Donna Kelly-Williams RN, President of the Massachusetts Nurses Association. 

The Massachusetts Nurses Association is the largest union and professional association of registered nurses and health professionals in the state, and the third largest in the nation, representing more than 23,000 members working in 85 health care facilities, including 51 acute care hospitals as well as nurses and health professionals working in schools, visiting nurse associations, public health departments and state agencies.

Dedicated to improving the terms and conditions of employment for its members, the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union has endorsed Beverley Griffin Dunne for her stance on advocating for safe staffing of correctional facilities, and provision of appropriate training and equipment for all correction officers.  Membership in the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federate d Union consists exclusively of uniformed state and county Correction Officers in various titles who are responsible for the safety and security of the Commonwealth’s prisons.
