Animal Causes Peabody Power Outage On Market Street

PEABODY, MA — Power was expected to be restored Wednesday afternoon in Peabody after "animal contact" caused an outage on Market Street.

The Peabody Municipal Light Company said the outage occurred early Wednesday afternoon and that the disruption was expected to be brief.

"An outage at Market Street at this hour should be resolved soon," the utility said about 1:30 p.m. "PMLP's work is complete and once everything is safe, power will be restored.
